Partner as a Solidarity Ally

MoCoPAAN carries out its work in solidarity with groups who call for fair treatment and equitable opportunities within the county's systems.

Meeting the Moment

Black, Latino, Native American, Asian American and Pacific Islander, women's, LGBTQ+, disability, and allied communities have organized for legal rights and protections at least since the civil rights movement.

 

Today, those protections are under threat of elimination or have already been rolled back, triggering a renewed call for action.

In 2022, MoCoPAAN joined an amicus brief with a multi-racial coalition — including the Montgomery County Branch of the NAACPIdentity, Inc.CASA, Inc., and Asian American Youth Leadership, Empowerment, and Development — to defend race-neutral equity reforms in middle school magnet admissions policies
