Asian American History in Montgomery County

According to the U.S. Census, Asian Americans were first recorded in Montgomery County in the year 1900.

Since then, the population has grown from less than 10 Asian American residents to over 150,000 countywide. Much of this growth is due to recent immigrants and new communities. Even still, this area has over 100 years of Asian American history to be celebrated and explored. Find out more using the resources below!

As residents of Montgomery County, we have been deeply involved with Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) activism and advocacy for decades.

We have fought to empower AAPIs in Academia, Public Policy, and through grassroots organizing at the National, State, and Local levels.
